The founder
Darron Phillips
Breaching Technologies, Inc. was founded in 2003 by Darron Phillips, a 28-year veteran of the San Antonio Police Department with extensive experience in tactical operations, breaching, and explosives training.
He recognized the need to provide operators with the most life-like breach training possible, and the value of dependable, life-saving tactical gear. From that came a revolutionary mechanical ram training door with a patented locking system: replaceable Shear Pins set into the frame that replicate the resistance of actual door locks, giving the operator the true feel of a real breach.
BTI became the first company to develop a breach training door capable of simulating real-world breaching scenarios. That single patented concept has grown into a comprehensive portfolio of training doors, ballistic, mechanical, and explosive breaching systems, tactical tools, and training aids — now trusted by military units, federal agencies, law enforcement, and fire departments around the world.
